Well, here I am writing about Pop Wave! The four Hungarians released two albums so far, yet I have only listened to this second one. The British New Wave influences are dominant and the whole sound is characterized by an extremely light melodic approach which also uncovers some Alternative features. The most beautiful track is "Kaleidoscope", fully slow and melancholic, surpassing the frame created by the rest of the songs. I would have enjoyed finding more sequences alike the ones within "Kaleidoscope", as its accords arouse a dim, yet pleasant mood to me. Probably the atmosphere created by the complementary instruments (cello, violins, violas, keyboard), enhances a less conventional scent which brings identity to this sound. I won't say more as this band hangs on the edge of what I use to promote.
