My first contact with Flauros took place while listening to MASTIPHAL project, many years ago. It was followed by the demential debut "In The Flames Of Black Art", released in 1997 as I recall and, after that, it seems the Polish brought nothing original. "Oniriad" and "Semidevilish" dissapointed me to the bones, while "In The Opium Of Black Veil" was somehow interesting. I am pleased that it is only my point of view, since DARZAMAT's high number of concerts stands as a proof of their recognition! I wonder where did that magic blend of Black Metal, Gothic and Doom faded? I haven't got a clue, I only know that the fifth album strikes more powerful, furiously alternating the explosive Black Metal with pure Death Metal fragments and, furthermore, we have an Atmospheric dimension, saturated in vivacity, with a horror, almost vampiristique scenary created by the keyboard! Demonic masculine vocals are entwined with feminine ones, reminding me about the beauty and the beast, without being able to tell which is who!

Finally, no more blah - blah, we have here an authentic Polish CRADLE OF FILTH, full of energy and promptitude, very atmospherical and aggressive, ideal for live shows! I must admit we are dealing with an esquisite recording and interpretation, but that is not enough to impress me! I had higher expectations from the sextet and I start questioning myself more and more often if my standards reached upper levels or am I just getting weary of listening to extreme Metal totally lacking originality. One upon another, we are dealing with an album excellently conceived and interpreted, but completely unpersonalized.
