I remember that two years ago I received a MCD in a digipack format and its music sounded surprisingly good for a material released throughout personal financial resources. By that time the band's name was PROPHET and I was really curious to find out if Aleksi's team would succeed to sign with a serious label. Well, time went by and I haven't herd of them until Roberto sent me this very material and... right after the first tunes... my first thought lead me to PROPHET. Well, well, the band indeed changed its name and not only... the luck as well... and everything sounds so optimistic...! Everything... BUT their music! A very melodious Gothic Atmospheric Metal is what they play and there are some obvious references to bands like KATATONIA, ANATHEMA, HIM, TO/DIE/FOR or even newer such as DIVERCIA. The clear voice is accompanied by a bombastic keyboard and they bring you to a comfortable state of mind. Despite these praising words, I must say that beside very good tracks...there are as well some modest ones and it gives a sensation that this album is rather a compilation than a material well gathered together in 12 sequences. I am sure that the second material will take care of this inconvenient and I have found out it actually is already conceived. Anyway, this was a pleasant surprise even if the most devoted Metal fans might say that the Finns prefer Disco Pop instead of else...
