GOTHICA "The Cliff Of Suicide"
  • Album: The Cliff Of Suicide
  • Year: 2003
  • Label: CMI
  • Artist:
  • Italy

After a debut with a great feedback in media spheres, the Italians return with a compact album, now more experimental than before, in a better shape and more melodious than the previous material. There is a strong similitude with DEAD CAN DANCE and the female vocals seem to have been improved. The choral arrangements sound better and so it can be said about the male vocals that interfere from time to time. It is not a remarkable album but I find it much better than the debut. The Gothic part obviously feathers the Ambient, Ethereal or Wave progressions. You can enjoy as well a video clip in which the stone of despair, the seashores and some other fatidic images so much outline the suicide idea. DCD and ATARAXIA fans have plenty of reasons to be glad of such appearance because GOTHICA tries to maintain alive a direction of this sort.
