Rob Darken continues to produce one album after another, both under GRAVELAND banner and LORD WIND. After fifteen years of activity, Rob records heaps of albums, some relevant for the scene, others far too similar. Striking out with a primitive Black Metal, GRAVELAND followed for several albums the Epic Black Metal approach, scenting alike Hammerheart/BATHORY style. The new album doesn't differ much from the previous one, but the atmosphere is curbed by the same clumsy mixing that burdens the audition of a music aiming towards elitism. The keyboard seldom peals clear and inspiring...otherwise the battery slays my hearing and the guitar riffs smother my breathing. It's GRAVELAND all right, nothing more, nothing less... Still, I hope Rob will reach the inspiration needed into creating an album that I'll keep in my mind for years, one to be set apart from all the mediocre releases done so far...
