I am not quite sure how to describe this music! Folk? Dark Goth? Italian Music? Melodramatic Popular? I have never heard anything like this before and that is why I find it difficult to establish stylistic frames. We have guitars, drums, trumpet, accordion, piano, male and female voices that sing in Italian, playful rhythms, cabaret like, retro, tango… a sort of theatrical ATARAXIA but with a lot more dynamic and rhythm. The texts and the entire concept for that matter comes from Italian history, from the beginning of the XXth century, the music emanating an archaic perfume, Mediterranean, very difficult to accept by a conventionalist. This CD comes as a limited edition and has included tracks that appeared on other sold-out editions, plus a cover-version of J. Brel’s “Amsterdam”. An exceptional music, an impressive track, “La Ballata Dell’Ardito”!
