POETS TO THEIR BELOVED "Embrace The Fool"

More Folk and dynamic than HEXPEROS, yet following the same Neo-Classical orientation, this duet concentrates both on the vocal dimension (a calm and tranquilizing masculine voice and a dreamy feminine one) and on the entwining of cello, violin and acoustic guitar, just seldom vibrating on some discreet bass' accords. The two already enjoy a strong promotion element, meaning their collaboration with the genius Brendan Perry (DEAD CAN DANCE), who helped them in what concerns musical preparation. I cannot elide noticing certain tribal sequences and percussion effects that remind me of DCD ("Ecstatic Dance"), very brightly articulated and agglutinated with the vocal mix. Marcel's voice tries from time to time to imitate Brendan (in intonation) but his tonality is far higher than the Master's and it generates an unpleasant effect, for me of course. The instrumentation sounds beautifully, but the vocal chapter needs some more work in order to be perfected; a music alike require professional tones, some remarkable, mighty and imposing ones. This voice combination seems pretty fragile to me and that's why the album can be superlatively appreciated solely from the stylistic point of view, but it certainly doesn't cross the average line in what concerns the final sound result.
