Erlend Antonsen is a very talented young man, and his friendship with Lars Jensen (MYRKGRAV) generated in a certain moment the realization of a fine album. After the promising "Origo" EP, last year they continued and recorded alongside other two musicians this album, a truly beautiful one! If you wish to experience some other ARCTURUS sonorities, more Black and criss crossed along Metal boundaries, QUADRIVIUM is the answer! The keyboard is quite fantastic, fully atmospheric and saturated with the passages that solely Simen (ARCTURUS) accustomed us to before, the guitars play the theatrical, staccato and mountebank rhythms, while the voices oscillate between the aggressive (there is still needed some extra work) and the normal ones, opera like...More Black than ARCTURUS, but also more Avantgarde than any other Northern Black Metal band, QUADRIUVIUM lacks in originality at the moment, yet it proves that can always act as clone for the legendary group... Obviously, keeping the limits alive! Beautiful surprise, pleasant audition!
