STORMFAGEL "Den Nalkande Stormen"
  • Album: Den Nalkande Stormen
  • Year: 2005
  • Label: COLD MEAT
  • Artist:
  • Sweden

This album is a great surprise for me and I really think is one of the most inspired releases of this year in the NeoFolk scene! In fact, we have more than half of the songs led by a sinister female voice, which sings in Hungarian, a new approach to the music, at least for me! We have a lot of Neoclassical, Folk, martial, with bombastic effects and atmosphere, different voices in background, Ambient effects, but Industrial too, elements from the old BLOOD AXIS, with influences from DERNIERE VOLONTE or THE MOON LAY HIDDEN BENEATH A CLOUD.

The cover of the album is really uplifting, especially because the CD is in digipack format!!! I don't know which could be the perfect adjective for this sound; maybe delightful? I also find out from the presentation of the band that this duet is formed by a lumberjack and a Transylvanian songbird... I had a dialog through some messages with the mentor of this project, Andreas Neidhardt, and I recommend you to do it, too, because he's an extremely weird and mysterios guy!
